Strollers and wagons

Across everything we track, 11 of 100 venues welcome strollers without restriction, 65 attach conditions, and 24 refuse them. That headline hides the split that actually matters: theme parks are built around strollers, and stadiums frequently aren't.

The reasoning is space. A park has wide walkways, stroller parking outside attractions, and rental fleets of its own. A stadium has narrow concourses and fixed seating with no aisle space, so a stroller becomes an evacuation obstruction. Some venues that refuse strollers inside the seating bowl will still check one at guest services — worth asking about rather than assuming.

Wagons are their own problem. 66 of 100 stroller policies mention wagons specifically, and they are very often banned even where strollers are fine. If you use a wagon, check explicitly — a policy that says “strollers permitted” frequently means strollers only.

Where conditions apply, they're usually about size and folding. 25 policies mention folding or collapsing, and 4 reference a designated stroller parking area. Large parks tend to publish exact dimensions; oversized and wagon-style strollers are the ones that fail.

The diaper bag is your bag allowance

This is the most useful thing on the page, and the least well known: a diaper bag is normally exempt from the clear bag rule and the standard size limit. You are not expected to fit a day of baby supplies into a transparent tote or a wallet-sized clutch.

Arenas make this concrete. Many publish a clutch-sized limit for ordinary bags — frequently around 4" x 6" — alongside a separate allowance for medical and diaper bags that's often 14" x 14" x 6". That's not a technicality; it's a different bag entirely, and it's the one you should be packing.

The trade-off is inspection. Expect the bag to be searched by hand, and expect to use a designated gate rather than the general entrance at larger venues. Our clear bag guide covers how those exceptions and gates work in more detail.

Feeding: pumps, milk, formula, and baby food

This is the reassuring part. No venue we track refuses breast pumps or nursing supplies — 85 of 91 allow them outright and 6 attach conditions, with none refusing. And 22 food policies mention baby food, formula, or infant needs explicitly, so a blanket “no outside food” sign generally isn't aimed at your baby's food.

52 of 91 venues publish a dedicated lactation or nursing room. Find it on the venue map before you arrive rather than asking once you need it — that's the difference between a five-minute walk and a stressful search with a hungry baby.

The genuine friction is milk storage, because it collides with the cooler ban — and cooler bans are close to absolute, with almost no venue permitting one unconditionally. The usual resolution is that a small cooler or ice pack is permitted specifically for milk even where coolers are otherwise prohibited. Glass is a separate restriction that sometimes survives the exception.

This is the one item on this page we'd actually phone ahead about. The two rules genuinely conflict, the exception often isn't written down, and gate staff don't always apply it the same way twice.

A packing checklist

• •Check the stroller rule first — it's the one most likely to be a hard no, and the hardest to solve in a parking lot.
• •If you use a wagon, check for the word 'wagon' specifically. Stroller permission often doesn't extend to it.
• •Pack the diaper bag as a diaper bag, not as a clear bag. The larger allowance is there for you.
• •Keep baby supplies separate from your own belongings so the exemption clearly applies.
• •Locate the lactation room on the venue map before you go.
• •Phone ahead about ice packs for milk. It's the rule most likely to conflict with itself.
• •Allow extra time at the gate — hand inspection is routine, not a problem.
