SeaWorld San Diego

Conditional. All bags, backpacks, and packages are inspected before entry, and most loose articles/bags aren't allowed on rides. Guests are asked to bring as few bags as possible to speed up entry. At security, bags must be removed from strollers and opened/ready for inspection. Loose articles (including backpacks and bags) are not permitted on most rides — leave them with a non-rider or use a locker.

Allowed. Guests may bring in a bottle of water or a refillable water bottle. Other outside beverages are not permitted, but water bottles are explicitly allowed even though other outside food/drink is not.

Conditional. No outside food is allowed except water; exceptions are made for special dietary needs, food allergies, and baby food/formula. Hard and soft coolers, glass containers, sandwiches, meals, snacks, and flavored drinks may not be taken into the park. Guests with medical diets, food allergies, or baby formula should contact Park Security or Guest Relations upon arrival for approval to bring in special dietary food. Exceptions: Medical dietary needs, food allergies, baby food/formula (approval required at Security/Guest Relations)

Not Allowed. Outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted; alcohol is sold in-park at various dining/bar locations. The official prohibited-items list bars alcoholic beverages, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and other illegal substances from being brought in. Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted in the park or on any ride.

Not Allowed. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia are prohibited on property, regardless of California's recreational-use laws. Listed directly in the official prohibited-items list alongside alcoholic beverages and other illegal substances.

Not Allowed. Large hard or soft coolers may not be brought into the park. Listed alongside glass containers, food, drinks, and picnic lunches as items that may not be taken into the park.

Conditional. Strollers may be brought in or rented; non-folding strollers/wagons must be parked outside stadiums and most exhibits. Strollers can be rented online or at the in-park rental shop near Guest Services (guests must be 18+ to rent). At the security checkpoint, bags must be removed from strollers before screening. SeaWorld is not responsible for strollers or contents left unattended. Fee: Stroller rental fee applies (see rental page for current pricing).

Conditional. Personal wheelchairs and ECVs are welcome, and rentals are available; wheeled mobility devices must have at least 3 wheels and remain stable when stopped or unoccupied. Guests may use their own wheelchairs or Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs), or rent them inside the park near Guest Services (18+ to rent). Rollator walkers are permitted but may not be used as a substitute for a wheelchair/ECV, and guests may not be pushed while seated in one. The official prohibited-items list separately bars 'wheeled mobility devices with less than 3 wheels or devices that cannot maintain stability and balance when stopped, unpowered or unoccupied.'

Not Allowed. Skateboards, scooters, roller/inline skates, shoes with built-in wheels, and two-wheeled self-balancing electric vehicles (e.g., Segways) are not permitted. 'Two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicles, such as Segways, are not permitted at SeaWorld San Diego. We are pleased to offer alternative forms of personal transportation, including Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) and standard wheelchairs.' Exceptions: ECVs and wheelchairs (as mobility aids, available to rent)

Conditional. Personal cameras, phones, GoPros, and selfie sticks are permitted, but loose items like selfie sticks are not allowed on rides or over animal habitats. Per SeaWorld's official X/Twitter account: 'We permit guests to use GoPros and selfie sticks in the park as long as users are respectful of the policies that protect the safety of our guests and animals. Loose items, including selfie sticks, are not permitted on rides or over any animal habitats.'

Not Allowed. Drones and remote-controlled toys are prohibited throughout the park. Listed under 'Recreational devices' in the official prohibited-items list, alongside skateboards, scooters, and roller/inline skates.

Conditional. Flags, banners, signs, or voice-amplification devices used to conduct demonstrations or incite a crowd are prohibited. This restriction is framed around demonstration/protest use specifically; general noisemakers (air horns, kazoos, etc.) are not separately addressed in official sources.

Not Allowed. Firearms, weapons, and objects that appear to be weapons — including self-defense sprays, pocket knives, toy/squirt guns, and water blasters — are prohibited. 'SeaWorld San Diego prohibits the possession, carrying and/or use of any type of firearms or weapons on SeaWorld San Diego property.' The FAQ prohibited-items list additionally bars knives and other sharp objects.

Conditional. Smoking, including e-cigarettes/vaping, is permitted only in Designated Smoking Areas. 'For the convenience of guests who wish to smoke, SeaWorld provides Designated Smoking Areas (this includes Electronic Cigarettes). Please refer to the park map for directions to these areas.'

Conditional. Adult face masks not medically or religiously required are prohibited, and clothing must be worn at all times with no offensive language or images. 'Face masks worn by adults that are not medically required or religious in nature' are on the prohibited-items list. Separately, park policy requires shoes/shirts/pants to be worn at all times (including over bathing suits) and bars clothing with inappropriate language or images. Exceptions: Medically required or religious face coverings

Conditional. Pets are not allowed in the park but can be boarded at a paid on-site kennel; trained service dogs and miniature horses are welcome, but emotional support animals are not permitted. Pet kennel facility is $25/day, first-come-first-served, located near the Parking Lot Toll Booths (owners must supply bowls/food; pets must be picked up within 30 minutes of closing). Service Animals are limited to dogs and miniature horses individually trained for a disability-related task, must be leashed/harnessed and housebroken, and are permitted in all guest areas (with some ride exceptions — permitted on Bayside Skyride, Rescue Rafters, and Skytower). 'Emotional Support Animals are not permitted at SeaWorld San Diego.' Fee: $25/day for pet kennel. Exceptions: Trained service dogs/miniature horses

Allowed. Guests may leave and return the same day by getting a hand stamp before exiting and presenting it with their ticket upon return. 'If leaving the park to enjoy your food, please have your hand stamped for re-admittance.'

Conditional. Large permanent markers/spray paint, fireworks and other flammable items, and laser pointers are also prohibited park-wide.
